As amulets go, "the mask" is pathetic. But I think one could make a decent business of designing and selling more interesting and durable (and equally ineffective) amulets for the next pandemic. Of course they wouldn't satisfy the guardians, but they would be a nice visual.
I've actually seen a few winged phallus necklaces on Etsy. I'm all for bringing back the classics, what's old is new again, maybe add some scripture. Just need a protective winged penis story to go viral and cha-ching, baby!
Because I used to joke but now I believe we women really do have a couple of rows of tiny vestigial pirhanna teeth hiding under all that labial drapery.
Thought exercise - a phallus is a symbol of masculinity - historically characterized by the traits of strength and protection. What if the only thing that "toxic masculinity" is toxic to is evil? Those seeking to do harm to a society? A society of eunuch males is largely defenseless and easily conquered. Perhaps the symbolism has more merit than it seems. What if that's the whole point of "toxic masculinity" propaganda? And the strength and protection the phallus symbol offers is to remind men in a society that is their role? And we need them to reclaim their "toxicity" to evil?
Toxic behavior is toxic to everyone. A man who assaults a woman is of no great benefit to another man either.
I believe one of the best things about masculinity is the instinct to defend and protect, and that is not toxic . So also physical play is not toxic either as for us it gives us an idea of our limits and where we must draw the line for ourselves.
I agree. I believe the term "toxic masculinity" was coined to expand what most all would agree is toxic to include any traits that will protect and defend. It's a linguistic device that renders the term meaningless; "if all are toxic then none are toxic." It's an intentional befouling of our language. And when you control language you control the terms of a debate.
And the term is loaded as it is meant to stir up drama and eventually more polarization. It’s another “us against them” dichotomy.
I heard an African woman recently revealing that advice every woman gets is that you should calm a man down before you give him your opinion on something to which my reply was “doesn’t this apply to women as well?”
We all have feminine and masculine traits within us, it’s just men and women have a couple standard deviations more of one than the other. And each side has its strengths and weaknesses.
Yes. more doublespeak. My long post below doesn't address this specifically, and maybe way back in those days before we had idiots like the Freuds, a flying penis could mean something different than the associations i made in that post. I was referring to the psychopathic aspects of how some men - and women - use 'penis envy' - another doublespeak term that hides more evil aspects of that invented term - both seem to be coverups for hidden meanings. So much language is co-opted for more nefarious purposes.
That is why it is always good to have a fox friend...I could tell you about the foxy ones I've known......foxy ones know.....I love them foxes.
Pretty soon this month of August is going to be over fox friend, but the gusto has yet to fully reveal itself says the wolf to the fox in the month of August - the month of gusto friend....the month when the wind blows with determination.
I appreciate your deep dive so far. I think your digging around and connecting some of the many 'coincidental' dots, is right on the $$money; which is what any repressive practice is usually about - profits for the few, suffering for the many.
I would like to add something darker, more evil, to your brilliant playful, yet chilling, analysis of NVidia and its history, both ancient and modern-- back to the wearing of flying penis amulets. I'm not sure what the amulet meant way back in the times the flying penis was worn. But... 'Penis Envy' is something that women are supposed to have - wishing they had a penis - according to Freud (and we can thank his evil nephew Edward Bernays for what he has done to this country as an 'ad' man selling war and other atrocities to the public through manipulation by the media).
I can understand women wishing they were men, since men have had power over women and their bodies, and everything else, since at least 9 or 10 thousand years ago. Men had all the rights, could vote, make laws. Women used to be entrusted with control of money and land back in hunter gatherer times, because they stayed home with children and hearth and it made sense. But that was taken away when the Aryans came and Patriarchy was born with that conquest.
In Old Testament bible times, Women were considered Jezibels from the time of Eve. Was it coincidental that in Jesus's time and after, so many earlier versions of the Christian Bible were destroyed by the council of Nicea (in ROME - coincidence, or not?) We don't even have accurate versions of what Jesus and the disciples said back in those times. That was all destroyed. But more will be revealed again, as more tablets are being found from those times and much further back.
I have considered the crimes done against women throughout history, and still today - two of the worst come to mind for starters - rape, and female circumcision. 'Female circumcision' is a euphemism, a 'nice' way to say cutting off their clitorises so they will never feel pleasure of orgasm. This gory practice causes all kinds of terrible anatomical problems for women later, including painful sex, infection, difficulties in childbirth (if the little girl survives it) for the rest of her life. This barbaric practice - often done without any kind of anesthesia while other women hold the screaming girl child down- is done to LITTLE GIRLS so they can be sold off to older, even old, men - pedophiles - so for the rest of their lives, these girls and women are subject not only to rape and painful sex with pedos, but also to have to live with the fear and insecurity these men have that women would run off with someone else if they could feel pleasure - which is why the genital mutilation is done to girls in the first place. Is this not psychopathic?
What makes men think women would want a penis, or wear one as an amulet, if this is what happens to them with it? How many women want to be rapists - especially rape victims who are disbelieved or blamed for 'asking for it' - whatever that means - besides being in the wrong place at the wrong time with some sick asshole? Why would a woman want to wear a winged penis - does it protect her from the 'evil eye' of men's lust for her body and desire to completely control it against her will? Does a penis amulet protect a woman from crimes against them, girls, boys, even babies - done by the owners of penises?
Maybe there is a further or different hidden meaning to that flying penis amulet. ( I notice that it too is circumcised, another useless barbaric ritual done to boys and male babies.) If so, that is worth finding out.
Then there is the whole mask analysis and its many meanings. Lots of material here to work with besides the amulet comparison to flying penises - as to their purposes are or can be., depending.
Masks isolate us from each other. They hide our full faces, facial expressions, muffle language (almost as good as a muzzle!) They poison us with our own toxins breathed from behind them, deny us fresh air.
At times, though, masks can be useful. They protect the identities of protesters and resisters to tyrannical regimes - which could come in handy in social credit score times, maybe - though they probably have much of our DNA already. Masks can poke fun or ridicule a political figure, a hollywood icon, or some other such infamous person - or be used in a movement, such as the Anonymous movement.
There are 'visible' masks, which mark who will be obedient to the handlers or who are most afraid and can be manipulated, in pandemic times. Then there are the invisible masks - people's personas in society - a much murkier subject for another time., but one worth exploring. Thanks for the good read.

What about a finned vagina?
YES WHAT ABOUT THIS FINNED VAGINA?
In 8 hrs how could I be the only taker???

Well now, that comment does bring some old Richard Pryor to mind!:

Great deep-dive into a rabbit hole!
While I avoided masking with a passion, I'll similarly avoid wearing a phallus for protection.

Did you hear the story about the American Bison decided it was now or never fox?
Did you know the wolves are most fond of the foxes and we watch day by day the foxes cross our paths? Did you know August is the month of Gusto?
If you didn't know fox, know you do and maybe that makes you foxier - maybe, maybe not fox.
I don't know about you but I sense the wind blowing in a direction and it is now or never.
A lot will be learned about the direction we are going and the speed we are going there in the very soon. Much sooner than most would like to believe.
That is why it is always good to have a fox friend...I could tell you about the foxy ones I've known......foxy ones know.....I love them foxes.
